A few relatively unknown organizations are worthy of special mention and following are links to their sites as well as a brief synopsis of their respective missions.  We hope that you find these informative.

United Healthcare Children’s Foundation (UHCCF)     www.uhccf.org

UHCCF’s mission is to offer medical grant money to families who need help paying for recurrent treatment conditions like cancer.

The National Pediatric Cancer Foundation (NPCF)    www.nationalpcf.org

This nonprofit focuses on funding research related to childhood cancers. They have found success helping to fund four phase 1 clinical trials.

Camp Kesem  www.CampKesem.org

Camp Kesem is a free summer sleep away camp provided to children who have been impacted by their parent’s cancer. The camp operates 132 chapters across the country and is staffed by college students, medical personnel and leaders provide a fun environment for these kids to unwind and be with others going through similar life experiences.    

Force     www.facingourrisk.org

Force seeks to raise awareness and provide information to people seeking resources about hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. They also host programs including advocacy, outreach and CDC-funded XRAY program that helps patients understand medical reports.

Chai Lifeline   www.chailifeline.org

Chai Lifeline focuses on pediatric illness initiatives and provides programs including emotional support, insurance advice services and housing for families with hospitalized children.
